Maxwell T. Gossman

Maxwell T. Gossman represents plaintiffs in mass tort and defective product cases, including federal MDLs and coordinated state proceedings, and represents consumers in class actions and arbitrations.

Maxwell earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Criminal Justice, magna cum laude, from the University of West Florida.

Maxwell began his legal career in Gainesville, Florida, practicing construction defect litigation alongside Florida Bar Board Certified Construction Law attorneys. He has experience representing homeowners, general contractors, design professionals, subcontractors, and material suppliers in both residential and commercial matters. There, he helped secure a final default judgment of more than $4.9 million for a California-based commercial real estate investor against an unlicensed contractor.

Maxwell then moved back to Pensacola, Florida to join a statewide insurance defense firm where he defended insurers and their insureds in automobile, premises liability, and construction defect matters. During that time, he learned how insurance companies and corporate defendants evaluate claims and build their litigation strategies. 

He now puts that insight into plaintiff-side work focusing on video game addiction, data breach, and defective product cases. His practice is focused on prosecuting claims against entities that exploit consumers, military veterans, and vulnerable groups.

Prior to law school, Maxwell interned for nearly 600 hours with the United States Probation Office for the Northern District of Florida. There, he assisted federal probation officers implement STEP (Strategies to Enhance Progress), an evidence-based reentry program that connects releasees with gainful employment and vocational training. He also assisted federal probation officers in preparing presentence reports and probation violation memoranda.

Outside of work, Maxwell enjoys golfing, watching Florida Gator football, and spending time with his wife and their two sons, Parker and Colton.
