california class action attorney

Danny Sternberg

Associate Attorney

Danny Sternberg advocates for consumers harmed by the unlawful practices of large

corporations and for employees confronting discrimination and wrongful termination. He joined

Bradley/Grombacher in 2026 after nearly a decade in public interest practice, litigating against

Fortune 500 companies, national insurance carriers, and government agencies, often in cases that

turned on unsettled questions of law.

Most recently, Danny was a Staff Attorney at Western Center on Law & Poverty, California’s

oldest and largest legal services support center, where he litigated fair housing and health access

cases and advised legal aid attorneys on discrimination law. He helped win a California Court of

Appeal decision in Foster v. County of Los Angeles, which reinstated elder abuse claims arising

from a government-sponsored home-financing program run by a fraudulent contractor. He also

served as lead counsel in a writ challenge to San Bernardino County’s land-use approvals under

fair housing law.

Before that, at Consumer Watchdog, he enforced Proposition 103’s protections for California

insurance policyholders and litigated healthcare discrimination cases. In Doe v. CVS Pharmacy, a

case of first impression under the Affordable Care Act challenging CVS’s restrictions on access

to HIV medications, he helped win a Ninth Circuit decision reviving the plaintiffs’ disability

discrimination claims and then defended that ruling at the U.S. Supreme Court. He also helped

secure a class settlement against a state agency and healthcare entities for unlawfully disclosing

patients’ HIV status.

Danny began his career in New York representing employees in discrimination and unpaid-wage

matters, then served as an Excelsior Service Fellow and later as a staff attorney with New York

State Homes and Community Renewal’s Fair and Equitable Housing Office. As a law student, he

represented incarcerated people challenging unconstitutional conditions and police misconduct.

Danny grew up in Memphis, where he saw firsthand how discrimination shapes people’s

opportunities, an experience that still informs his work. He gives clients a candid assessment of

their cases and pursues the result that will meaningfully change their circumstances.

Danny earned his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was a New York

State Pro Bono Scholar and Managing Editor of the Cardozo Public Law, Policy & Ethics

Journal, and his B.A. from the University of Arizona. He is admitted to practice in California

and New York and before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth

Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Northern, and Southern Districts of

California.
